After receiving a B.A. in English from the University of Florida, I received an M.F.A. from USC’s graduate School of Cinema-Television. While at USC, I also worked in the story department of New Regency Films on the lot of 20th Century Fox, tracking studio projects and covering spec scripts for possible purchase. After graduation, I went to work writing action films for Roger Corman's New Concorde Productions. In 2003, I served as a jury member for the Sarasota Film Festival. My screenplays have won numerous awards, including my script "Wild Cards", which took first place in Fade In Magazine's annual competition. It was later retitled “Hit Me,” became my feature directorial debut, and is now distributed worldwide by Curb Entertainment. I also recently sold a martial arts pitch to M.E.B. Entertainment, which is currently slated for production in 2010. Currently, I'm the head writer and supervising producer of "Max and Jason: Still Up," an hour-long TV show which airs every weeknight on Current TV, a cable network founded by Al Gore that’s currently delivered to over 60 million homes worldwide. Most recently, through Filmaka, I directed a short film for DIRECTV entitled "Great Moments In History." All my latest films and resume are viewable on my website, kinneyfilms.com.
