The felling of these trees is breaking a connection with something nobody understands but when the trees can longer absorb human angst...then watch out for the pursuing Kaos.
Your movie is the most provocative that I’ve seen so far. It makes me mad. It glorifies deforestation which is having a global impact on our environment - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deforestation Also it uses music that you don’t have the right to use. Overall, this movie is like the toothpick that’s made from great trees like these, disposable. And by the way, "white" is not a nationality, it's an ethnicity.
The images of falling frees are stunning and very powerful, but not in the way the filmmaker intended, (I don't think!). Seeing these mighty trees tumble to the ground and the whoops of the fallers is uncomfortable viewing. They are so huge and ancient. I imagine Mike does not see anything wrong with felling them - it is his trade and livelihood. But to my mind this film makes a strong case against deforestation.
Oh! - so my point is - Do I give it 5 star for its raw, provocative, powerful images, and the message I take from it, or 1 star for its abhorent intention?
