Hi Brian! This is brilliant! I absolutely loved it! The lead, editing, direction, voice over... I found everything really good! :) Wonderful short! Leaves a great impact!
Also thanks for watching my film and your comments! The lead in Festa are myself and my husband. :)
Lovely tragic story! Nice sphere setting!
I really liked the dancing parts. Great filming (good zoom effect)
Brian- I made a very similar comment on AJ's "The Ultimate Resolution"....I feel it's incredibly difficult to pull of a short film about suicide. I've seen dozens of short films in which the main character decides to end it all, and I've never been moved by any of them. Unless the performance is pitch-perfect, the task of having an audience invest in a character enough to feel their pain when they decide to end it all seems near to impossible. To be clear: this has nothing to do with your ability as a filmmaker--only the difficulty of the subject you chose to take on with such a constricting time limit.
Hi Brian... Your film has an incredibly strong emotional pull... It was like I knew the main character closely for a long time... And yes, your inspiration that is your hometown of Reno makes me want to visit it too! This film is a winner. And by the way, thanks for your kind comments about my film too.
Film looks very beautyful, especialy the exteriors... Also, emotionally very strong. But I have to go with Sam Fuller - it's much easier to film a mass murder then a suicide :D Still, esteticaly and emotionaly the film is spot-on!
great camerawork, tone, editing , story... i like
Brian---you got good style. Good mood and all that, but this actress didn't really do it for me. The narration felt overly-dramatic and I must admit I almost laughed with the "and you couldn't see it" line. And then you change tone with light club music! That was hard for me to get behind. For me this was too much tell and not enough show.
Hi Brian - thanks for this film. The technique is, as usual, impeccable. I think you've tackled something really ambitious, and for that I salute you! Cheers,
what a great piece Brian. Love the stroll through Reno, its beautiful..
I love Reno. Its like my second home. Great job.
