Interesting idea! Wouldn't we all like to go back in time?!
Please check out my film "together again" and let me know what you think.
Great as always, even with a $0 budget. Love it and it's got my vote!
Impressive usage of archival footage. Like the personal touch to the piece.
Nice little piece. With a big dream.
I loved how you put together all the archive footage. It really made the short stand out.
I thought you were just using effects or something. That's pretty amazing that you have old clips that you can use like that. Almost as if you've been setting it up for the past 15 years for this competition.
Beautiful poetic essay. With the archival footage, you bring your piece to a level of unparalleled truth and authenticity. Thank you.
Very well done. Makes you wonder if that is the same actress when she was younger. Really great.
Lee, I feel like when we comment on a film and tell the person that they have been 'short-listed' that means we are voting for the film. I see you have 'shortlisted' 20 plus films. I doubt that you have any ill intent, but just wanted to let you know that when you use that term, people assume that you are giving them that vote. In reality, what you have been saying is that 'I have put you in my top twenty-two, and there is a small chance that you will get my vote'
Not trying to be rude, just wanted to share the perspective
Thanks for sharing, Chris. Yes, out of 53 entries, I shortlisted 21. On one I forgot to mention it ;-) I honestly didn't think that people would assume they'd be one of my five votes for sure. This is only the third theme thingy I've entered, and when people told me in the past that I was short-listed I didn't actually think that they WOULD vote for me. So in reality, I am saying that I have put them in my top 21, and there is a good chance they will get my vote. If they watch all the entries like I have just finished doing, they might even read my comments about other people's submissions. I commented on all 53. Now, not today, but maybe tomorrow, I will weed down to ten and then to five. Is that okay with you?
Thanks Greg... Yes, I posted a comment on yours.
Thanks Ro :-) Yes, a totally zero budget except for two shots that I took on a previously shot on tape ;-)
Thanks Chris about your comment on my piece. I appreciate it :-)
Thanks Roy. Yes a big dream, just like wanting to one day having a budget to make my first feature, lol!
Thanks so much Daniel :-)
LOL, Neil... I wasn't actually planning on any of it, butt I wanted to enter something, so since I had just recently been working on my 'reel', I had the archival footage from years past. Originally, I was going to do a stop animation with my dolls... Then some busy-ness and complications in life as well as complications to eye drops my doc gave me in a routine check-up making my eyes blurry for a week, I couldn't do what I had intended. The footage was there, and spoke to me :-) I put it together in less than two days.
Thank YOU Linq Yim! That's one of the nicest things anyone has ever said about my work!
LOL, thanks Martin. It IS the same actress, me, who's really not an actress at all, but using myself doing solo shoots for both practice and the fact that I'm too broke to get locations and pay actors.
Hey, Lee! Really well edited and an absolutely too awesome use of old footage. Hope that you soon get the $$$s to make your feature. Hee hee. Maybe you should do a solo feature. If anyone can, it would be you.
The old footage really gives it an emotional side. Very unique
Very poignant telling of a person's historical perspective and personal journey.
Great textures to increasy the feeling of every moment. And an amazing journey through past and decisions...
See you!
Very cool editing techniques. Good use of the old footage. Great job and good luck!
awesome editing and very well directed!!!!!!good concept too.....they wy you handled the past and present was awesome........shortlisted!!!!!!
Great work as always Lee.
yes, the guy who comes in the end in "bee in the web" is her husband. Thats why I used the same piece of music in the beginning and towards the end so people could relate to it due to the smallness of the screen.
Thanks, Ali :-) Doing a totally solo feature 'has' crossed my mind, but getting good production value would be extremely difficult.
Thanks, Ryan, for watching it as well as for your comment :-)
Thanks you so much, jai :-)
LOL, I meant thanks Lee Isserow, not me ;-)
Hey hey Lee
As usual, you are good. Very well done and congrats on winning. Always look forward to seeing your stuff...
