Love the idea. It would have looked a little better with a tripod, and shame you didn't put any music or sound effects to it - that would have made it perfect.
I think that your audio was too low... Just kidding! Excellent film without sound. I didn't even mind the subtitles! I understood that all mimes do whatever they do without sound, just gestures and that's why you chose to show this rather than have music or sound effects. Please watch my entry, 'Deadline'.
Nice mime look. Great camera angles. Good luck to you.
Why do so many people hate mimes?
They are just lovable extortionists like more vocal people.
well done.
I get the whole silence thing, subtitles added a chuckle and the clever use of standard rope, wind, box would have made Marcel proud. Had essence of "Silent Movie" by Mel B.
Please check out "Sands of Time"
I laughed so hard I cried! It was perfect without sound, they were mimes after all, and the dialogue was absolutely hysterical, "I had to pull myself along on a rope and now I'm stuck in a glass box." I loved every second, amazing amazing film!
You have very good sense of rhythm. I think that mime is much better in closed space or at least at marked space, but I got your idea and some of the feeling, not as much as it would be if you built more suspense and with mime you have special options for it. Good luck!
It's interesting seeing people's different reactions. Kimberley K found it funny (Cheers, by the way:) - and that's completely valid - the mime conceits (pulling along rope etc) take tension away from the kidnapping scenario and add a sense of the ridiculous. But if you were a Mime and that was your LIFE - where you were religiously bound to the conceits of your profession; you wouldn't find it funny if your lifestyle was keeping you from saving your wife!
I actually wanted to find a mid-ground for this film, a tension between funny and tragic, leaving you a little numbed, saddened and unsettled. I tried to get my actors to play the tragic elements for real too.
To be honest, a wonderful piece of experimental work,,kudos to you for that ...the convincing acting gave a completely new dimension to the film,,the glass box made me laugh hahaha....!!!
I've never seen such a cold-hearted mime before. Nor such a tragic ending to a mime story. Excellent work. Good development of humor.

Not bad at all. Good idea.
