This is good oliver... acting, camera moves... shortlisted.
thanks Robin. I'm not happy with it but never am ...
Wow, great acting, the DOP was fantastic. Over all a great, deep, emotional movie.
Cinematography was great. What camera were you using?
Wonderfully shot, great performances. Hooray for British filmmakers.
Great opening and set up, great performances - I especially want to comment on the camera and edit for the opening because it's a style that's too often out of place, over done and distracting - not here - here the loose camera and jump cuts develop the anxiety and an urgency very sympathetically to the story. Very well done. J
Good acting! I wasn't crazy about the jerky hand-held camera movement's though, and the audio was a bit low as well. The ending was a surprise AND a nice shot! Please watch my entry, 'Deadline'.
Simple and beatiful.
I'm a huge fan of this film. The story, acting, editing, shots, all work for me. Bravo.
Both actors bring good credibility to the piece. I think 28 is very young. Yet many women at that age feel they need to fall in love and be married right away. I always wondered how much of that is biological vs. social conditioning. ------Director of 'The Time Is Now'--------
acting direction feel ..was very good
This camera style works great on the small screen but if you've even seen in on a 30 foot screen you know how painful it is! That side, the story tells well, the character introductions are good and it has a definitive ending. The whole story is there! No exposition.
Really well drawn characters. You were able to tell a big story in two brief conversations, I loved it.
Loved the actresses, loved the theme and the atmosphere. Really good work.
Yes, you wish it is connected with a theme. That much camera movement, I mean use of shaky camera, must have its reasons from the story and not from the outside. Story is a poem, I would say, about waiting for a 12 o clock. full of expectation for something indefinite. Great acting, really, great form of story, I loved that rough cut, but I also feel sorry for mixing that great elements with very bad ones. But, I certainly got the emotion. Good luck!
Hi all ... glad you all seem to like it. Yes the camerawork is a bit too jumpy for a sedate conversation. I was trying to add urgency when it should have come from the story. We shot it on a Sony EX1 in our studio. The dating game is tough! Oliver
I'm glad you made it to the jury round!
