Inspiration: The challenge of writing tight dialogue for a situation with an amusing twist drew me to this, as well as a fascination with how our past history has a habit of catching up with us. I enjoy films that keep me guessing, and which flip stereotypes and look to find balance. I had a short window of opportunity and just exactly the minimal resources I needed, so planning and filming had to be well organised. Editing it to exactly 5 minutes was a personal goal, helped with a careful eye on timings during takes. It was great to work with a motivated and sharp team, who took what we had and rolled. I'm pleased with the results, and feel encouraged. Favourite screenwriter at the moment is Charlie Brooker (of Black Mirror fame), and I yearn to make strides in a similar direction, with a bit of luck! I hope viewers will enjoy this lovingly sculpted short.
