Like many developing nations, Nepal has no defined laws when it comes to Mental Health. There are several cases where instead of dealing with the issue at hand, families leave their loved ones on the streets when they face challenges. My focus is on the women that are abandoned to fend for themselves. These women are raped, beaten, and outcasted by society. With no one to care for them, they are left on the streets to fend for themselves.
Shree Neha Pokharel is an anomaly, She started Snehi Kaakha to care for these women. With no formal Psychology degree, she believes that love and proper care can help these women. She goes out on the streets and finds these women and brings them back to her little shelter. Till date, she has rehabilitated almost 20 women back into society.
