We are two semi-ordinary men who happen to make some really cool things when we are put together. Meeting in high school, we finally ended up becoming closer friends a couple years later and ended up getting ourselves into some DJ gigs for college parties and other random events. From there, we found ourselves looking for a space of our own for use as a studio for recording and photography.
After stumbling into a cheap little nook in a downtown area of a suburb in Metro Detroit, we were able to turn that space into much more than just a studio for us, but a music venue/performance space that's since been nationally recognized for touring bands and locally recognized as one of the top 5 night clubs in the Detroit area. The venue, called The Factory, has hosted over 300 shows/events in less than a year and half, including an outdoor music and arts festival in which over 1,000 people were in attendance.
Since opening The Factory in 2008, we have opened a retail store, called Zeitgeist, and a media/design company, called The Work, which encompasses everything we do. The Work is just a moniker for the work we both create together, which expands from photography, video, animation, graphic design, digital layout, creative consulting, event design and production, band tour photography/video and more.
We are two men who love making things; just two men who are doing what they love and determined to make it their life's work. We're nothing special. We didn't go to art school or anything like that to get where we are. We do work.
