My name is Paola Kisieluk, an Argentinian native, who became very passionate for Filmmaking at a very early age. After graduating High School with honors in Buenos Aires I decided to pursue my dream. I enrolled at the prestigious Eliseo Subiela Film Academy during the mid 90's in the city mentioned above. Subiela is a re known Film Director who worked (and still does) in Argentina most of his life after achieving international fame in Europe and Hollywood for his masterpieces "Man facing Southeast" and "The Dark Side of the Heart". My early works include various shorts and documentaries;"Tattooarte", my best piece of work at the time, aired on public television in June 1996. It was followed by a half an hour interview about my edgy style in shooting which includes canted framing, extreme close ups, use of color mixing B&W techniques (to convey time passing and psychological experiences) and chiaroscuro lighting to denote mood. In Subiela Film Academy I learned all the techniques needed on my upcoming years in the United States.
I arrived to NYC in 1999. After two years in the city, I decided to moved to CT to enroll in Connecticut State University at age 25. From 2002 through 2006 I worked in a series of school projects which included Research in Art (in site museum work), Film (music videos, shorts, ads, and documentaries produced by CCSU), Theatre (directing for the stage, make up, costuming, stagecraft, and playwriting) also worked in TV Programming (talent as well as on the floor as property manager, camera, editing, directing, etc). Upon graduation in 2006 with a 3.5 GPA and a Bachelors in Art (majoring in Communication Mass/Media with a minor in Theatre/Art History) I joined Captured Times production in Litchfield, CT. Andrea and Harvey Hubell, its founders, are world famed Documentary genre Directors and Producers. Therefore since 2006 I found myself inmerse working with these two famous directors in two major documentary films "Disleksia the Movie" and "The Margaret Sanger Story". At the Hubell's I performed tasks such as logging, shooting, dealing with stock footage, and editing.
In 2007 I moved to Miami, FL and became a freelance Writer and Director doing some collaborative work with Uno Films in Mexico City. Currently I'm writing their new upcoming feature film about the times and work of this famous painter from the 1920's and about to join the Miami International Art Institute to pursue my Masters degree in Film.
I see myself directing the film I'm currently writing whithin a year or two, travelling the world doing what I love and know best and teaching students in colleges worldwide after finishing graduate school.
