WIN FUNDING FOR YOUR FEATURE FILM
Join a group of international filmmakers who have risen through the
ranks in rounds of competition to get the boost they needed to the
next rung in their career.
Pierre-Olivier
Thevenin was spotted in our
Feature Film Competition and hired to direct his first feature film,
Humains (co-produced by Filmaka).
Luis Bernal Salazar submitted a short which became the
Webby-Award-winning original series
The Ten Commandments of La Vida
Loca.
ONLY THREE ROUNDS OF COMPETITION LEFT!
In addition to other opportunities on our site, one director each year
is chosen as our FEATURE FILM COMPETITION Grand Prize Winner and
offered the chance for Filmaka founder Deepak Nayar produce their
feature script with him or her at the helm. How do you get there?
Process of elimination.
Every month, from over 100 submissions, 10 Peer to Peer Winners and 5
to 10 Filmaka Selections are chosen as Entry Level Winners. Each gets
$500 and the opportunity to make another film - a Jury Level
submission - for which they will receive $1000 funding. The Jury Level
films are judged by our FILMAKA JURY of world-class film
professionals. Three Jury Level Winners are chosen from each theme,
and at the end of the year, all 36 Jury Winners compete in the final
showdown.
But for now, let's just stick to this month's theme. It is...
THE OTHER SIDE
Remember when Luke Skywalker found out his father used to be a Jedi Knight - until Darth Vader went over to The Other Side? How about that TV psychic John Edward and how he talks to dead people who are on The Other Side? Or remember when you thought you bought the fullest, bushiest Christmas tree on the lot - until you got it home and saw the big hole in the branches on The Other Side?
Whether you're pondering moral choices or just shortsightedness, give us *your* interpretation of The Other Side in a 1 to 3 minute film. Be sure to give your clip an original name when you upload (not just "The Other Side") so we can tell it apart from all the other submissions.
Films must be uploaded to the site by SUNDAY, AUGUST 2 BY 24:00 HOURS! Be sure to read and follow the
DELIVERY RULES and
TERMS AND CONDITIONS before you submit.
Good luck crossing over!
