BIOGRAPHY:

My first play was The Wizard of Oz, when I was 10 years old. In Jr High, Highschool and University I performed in a few more plays and then it was off to the Army for three years. I served with the Special Service Forces (SSF) at Base Petawawa, Ontario. My MOC (military occupation) was classed Tank Crewman- Gunner, but in Canada the forces are so small we had to be cross trained. I was also a sharpshooter, a member of the SSF Rappel Group (jumped out of helicopters) and a patrol specialist. When I left the Army in 1993 I was unsure what was next but I always enjoyed acting in school and I'd always wanted to play football...so I decided those would be my pursuits. The 1st play of the 1st real organized tackle football game I ever played in was a kickoff and I made the tackle on special teams...and I was hooked. I went on to play 9 years of semi-pro football (1993-2002), including several playoff appearances, 2 Championships. In 1995 I also walked on at Syracuse University for Football and made the scout team but I missed my 1 year old son Daniel too much and returned home to Canada. My favorite football memory was playing for the Peterborough Packers in their first game as members of the New York Football League and scoring their 1st ever Touchdown on a 7 yard run. I was wearing my Syracuse number, 49, my son Daniel (then 5 years old) was in the stands and we were playing in Rochester, the city of my birth. On the sidelines my son asked to see my helmet and I handed it to him, thinking he wanted to put it on. He melted my heart when he flipped it over to look at the picture of he and I that I kept tucked in the padding and he stared at it smiling for about a minute and a half. In 1999 after I had been out of the military for 7 years and had dabbled with acting a bit more I began the serious pursuit of my career goals. In 2001, after working sporadically in Toronto on several commercials, bit parts and shorts I flew to LA to see if it was where I wanted to be...and it was but...fate stepped in and my father became ill so I returned to Canada again, this time London Ontario, to take care of him. When he was back up and around I drove back to Toronto to try to rebuild some savings and get myself down to LA. On the drive back I received a call from my agent that turned out to be th highlight of my acting career in Toronto. Apparently ABC had been searching for an actor to portray Dan Aykroyd in their movie "Gilda Radner:It's Always Something" and after a meeting and two improv auditions, I landed the role. The movie was scheduled to air on April 22nd 2002 but was pushed, serendipidously to April 29th...my birthday. The following year after some more commercials and roles on "Street Time" and "Monk", I moved to LA. It was January 6th, I got on a plane with $180 and no connections other than a screaming gut feeling that it was time. Not the best plan I admit but I had to trust my instincts. After a number of hardships (my father passing away from cancer, dislocating my knee and just feeling pretty darn lonely sometimes) here I sit 6 years later no longer alone but about to be married to the love of my life with a solid agent having landed roles on NBC's 'the Office' (which I auditioned for the same day as I proposed), "Parks and Recreation", more commercials and a pilot produced and directed by Mr. Tom DeSanto. Since arriving in LA I've been in a number of commercials, short films, on stage in a long form improv show called "Classless Reunion Live", I played Ebenezer Scrooge at the Stella Adler Theatre in Hollywood and made my stage directorial debut with Kenneth Lonergan's "This is Our Youth" starring my friend David Huynh, a talented young actor and Filmaka member. He produced "For You" in which I played the lead for the Filmaka competition "Behind Closed Doors". My life has ran a winding course but my soul is my guide and I will always follow it in my endeavors. My talents I've found extend to the other side of the camera and I have produced some video sketches and funny commercials and edited them as well. I enjoy the writing process, something I loved as a child in school, so on top of everything I decided to throw my hat in the ring as a writer with "Jack and Jill" my entry into the DIRECTV Challenge. I was rewarded as one of 20 semi-finalists with the chance to make my filmmaking debut! During pre-production I lost my sound man to a feature (congrats to him), my editor friends were all booked and my gaffer flaked out on me so I was left to do much of the crewing myself with the help of my fiancee and a few dedicated actor friends...and things began with my primary location choice being demolished the day I wanted to begin principal photography. However, it all came together, I LEARNED A LOT and we got it done. Thank you Deepak, Filmaka and DIRECTV for the opportunity. In the future I see myself growing more and more as an artist and as a human being. My plans outside film and stage craft include learning Italian, travelling, working on my singing voice and learning to play the piano and guitar. I'm also looking forward to having a beautiful family with my love. Stay tuned filmaka, I will meet and exceed these goals. What your mind can conceive and your heart can believe...you can achieve.
