Filmaka prize-winning films FRANCIS, ELEPHANT BOY and THE LETTER GAME jointly won Best Film in the ReelTube category at the ReelHeART International Film Festival, Toronto. FRANCIS also screened as a finalist in the Angry Film Festival, Melbourne and has just been selected for the Official Jury Competition in the Cornwall Film Festival, UK.

ENCOUNTERS, Pat's first feature as writer/director, won Best Feature Film awards at festivals in LA, Toronto and the UK. It is released on DVD in the US on November 24th, 2009. Product page on

Pat was commissioned by the UK Film Council, Cornwall Film and South West Screen to write and direct the short film PIANISSIMO, which has been shown at Festivals worldwide.


News: The 5th ReelHeART International Film Festival (RHIFF), Toronto has awarded Best Film in the ReelTube category jointly to three Filmaka shorts by Pat Kelman: FRANCIS, THE LETTER GAME and ELEPHANT BOY. Pat Kelman was raised in Cornwall. In 1995 he left the County to work as an actor in London, where his credits include THE GAMBLER directed by Mel Smith, THE ODYSSEY directed by Andrei Konchalovsky, LIGHTHOUSE directed by Simon Hunter and ONE HELL OF A CHRISTMAS directed by Shaky Gonzalez. He is a regular artist with the Cornish Theatre Collective. He can currently be seen in a regular supporting role in the BBC sitcom MY HERO, and in Danny Spring's short film HELP. Pat has an extensive background as a theatre director, and has directed the short films THE TAXI, WONDER WORKING MAGICIAN and BAD KORMA. His first feature film as director, ENCOUNTERS, won Best Film awards at Festivals in the UK, Canada and the US. He has worked extensively with Filmaka Finalist Alec Christie, culminating in the successful horror short CUT THROAT ALLEY in 2006. In 2007 he wrote and directed PIANISSIMO as part of the UKFC Digital Shorts Scheme in association with South West Screen and Cornwall Film. Pat is a member of the New Producers' Alliance and the Directors' Guild of Great Britain.
