CHRISTIE
Christie's Uncle Jeremy is a self-made multi-millionaire with a finger in many pies and a number of acquired companies worldwide. On leaving school Christie's mother advised him to get a job working for his uncle at Lav-U-Like toilet sales because "people will always need to shit." Because of his family connection he is unfireable. Christie is incapable of believing anybody doesn't like him. He genuinely believes he knows everything there is to know about anything worthwhile and believes it is his responsibility to impart that wisdom to those around him. Christie cannot hold his drink and believes drugs are for winners. He thinks that women are incapable of jobs more demanding than secretarial work. He also believes he is the most talented businessman since Donald Trump.
SARTAJ GAREWAL
Originally from Wiltshire, Sartaj obtained a degree in Finance from Bristol and moved to London to work for various investment banks where he quickly realised the financial world wasn't for him! Already interested in acting, he began working in fringe theatre followed by television, commercials, film and radio drama. Over the past 9 years he's been lucky to have played some great roles. At the moment he's in a brilliant play called "Tinderbox" at the renowned Bush Theatre and has played a regular character in the BBC Radio Drama "Silver Street" for 4 years now. He lives in Kilburn (north-west London) and acting aside, enjoys martial arts. There's nothing like smacking up some pads to relieve stress...!!
MO
Mo has worked at Lav-U-Like for a long time and is their top sales executive. He is a mild mannered, confident, outgoing guy. Instantly likeable and extremely knowledgeable, Mo is great at building a rapport with the Lav-U-Like customers and potential customers and always makes his sale unless Christie is involved. Christie decided early on to take Mo under his wing and has been an albatross around his neck ever since. Christie is slowly driving Mo mad. Mo gets on relatively well with other Lav-U-Like employees. His friendship with Sally has developed over time into something closing in on romance. Unfortunately Christie constantly interrupts them during the few moments they have alone together and as a result no romance has blossomed between them yet.
ROMILLY TURNER
Romilly graduated from Drama Studio London in July 2007 and as chance would have it, ''Christie'' was to be her first role as a professional actress. Two short films for the London Film Academy ('Tom and Katie' 2007) and ('Pants' 2007) followed soon after and her theatrical debut came in January 2008 playing Madame Danzard in 'My Sister In This House' at the Greenwich Playhouse. A Junior Associate of the Royal Ballet School, she studied for two years before becoming an actress. Food, dancing, burlesque and comedy are also favourite hobbies of hers.
SALLY
Sally is the Lav-U-Like receptionist and Christie's secretary. She is a sensible, attractive intelligent girl who has no patience for Christie chauvinistic outbursts. She does, however, have a very nice apartment in Richmond so never reacts too harshly with Christie for fear of losing her job, apartment and cat. Working near Mo also makes life more bearable at Lav-U-Like.
STEEL WALLIS
Steve graduated from Drama school in 1999. In 2001 he toured the Mouse Trap all over Italy in magnificent theatres to unruly teenagers. In 2004 he was spurred on to try stand-up comedy by another establish act. He reluctantly rose to the challenge, and loved it. Then in 2006 he bumped into old drama school friend Alec Christie in a cafe. Since that day Alec has persisted in getting him acting work for people all over London. At the start of 2007 he wrote and acted in a short film called Ginger which Alec directed and entered to filmaka, they got through to jury level and with the money they made SMS Kiss. He has just finished playing Algernon in The Importance of Being Algernon (erm Earnest). He looks forward to what ever Alec Christie has to throw at him next.
DUNCAN
Duncan is a junior sales executive at Lav-U-Like. He is good natured but genuinely believes that he should have a career in stand up comedy as the stuff he comes up with is gold. You couldn't write it. Not that you'd want to. His sense of humour is the worst on the planet. His great strength is that he can irritate Christie more than anyone else in the office. For this reason and this reason alone he is not only tolerated by the others in the office, but actually encouraged to crack jokes. Christie is constantly slapping him on the nose. The slaps he receives are like a vindication for him of his decision to bring levity to the office environment. They are like a one-man applause.
MOONIE KING
Moonie King who plays Emma in the series of Christie is Originally from Burgesshill in sussex. She trained at Birmingham school of acting and since graduating has performed in lots of plays and films. She specialises in playing murdered prostitutes! She has been in two feature films Bloodlines and rulers and Dealers. She is looking forward to working on another one called The Shadows of London. She also works as a model and a burlesque dancer.
EMMA
Emma is a marketing executive at Lav-U-Like. Credited with coming up with the names and slogans for all Lav-U-Like's major brands, the Flushmatic 2000, the Flushtronic, the Flushtastic and the lower end model, the Flushmeister she is an invaluable member of the team. Her most famous slogan, "Your waste, Our haste" on the famous Lav-U-Like leaflet campaign of 2005 led to an 85% increase in sales for the then new and cutting edge Flushmatic 2000. She has been courted by advertising agencies and brand managers and is always in negotiations for the big move. Christie has had the hots for her for years. As much as she hates him, she'd sooner scheme a way to get rid of him than be forced out by his chauvinistic harassment of her.
GUY BURNET
Guy, born and raised up in central London with his family coming from much further afield. Having attended Holland Park, His interest in drama developed after taking part in a number of theatrical productions. After a number of short films He secured an agent. He joined the cast of 'Hollyoaks' in 2002 till 2007 as lead character 'Craig Dean'. After playing 'Andy' in 'Christie', Guy is now working with director Azi Rahman and Filmaka again on project 'HusH'.
ANDY
Thirty something assistant creative director. Urban surfer but never says "Dude". Graduated from NYU with dreams of being a professional musician but somewhere along the line things went wrong, bills had to be paid and he ended up working in advertising. Constantly belittled and put down by Max. Unsure of his abilities. Unsure where his life took a wrong turn. Gets through life by listening to Jack Johnson and imagining himself on a beach anywhere but here. Actually a creative genius unaware that his ideas are constantly ripped off by those around him. In therapy. Desperately in love with Ling. Ambition - to pay off his credit cards and move to Hawaii.
RIA LINA
Ria Lina is a half-Filipina, half-German Brit with an American accent, so of course she's a stand-up comedienne. Having graced the comedy circuit both in Britain and abroad for more than 7 years, she's been awarded the EMMA award for best comedienne, as well as featured in a number of comedy shows in both theatres and on television. In her spare time she likes to study, having to date racked up a BSc in Pathology (to help her play dead people in CSI), an MSc in Forensics (to help her play live people in CSI), and a PhD in Bioinformatics (just to show off).
LING
Beautiful but modest twenty something graphic designer. A Yoko Ono type. Loves loft living, art galleries, installations, the New York art scene, tattoos and piercings, underground clubs, modern Jazz, electronica, experimental music and bohemian bars. Too cool for school if a little bit of a wafty hippy. Head firmly in the clouds makes her seem a little aloof at times. Andy thinks she's out of his league. Work for her is something that pays for her artistic activities and nightlife. Adventurous, a free spirit, has a secession of boyfriends and girlfriends none of whom she cares much about. Ambition - to be the next Bjork/Tracey Emin/Diane Arbus/Yoko Ono.
