Biography

Born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, Marcus Thomas has always been fascinated with movies, music, and anything pop culture related. Therefore, the pursuit of a career in the entertainment industry was inevitable. In 2002, Marcus graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Houston where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Media Production and Corporate Communication. Marcus began his career working as a Production Assistant at HSI Productions in Culver City, California where he worked on a number of high-profile music videos for artists such as Usher and Nelly and ad campaigns for brands such as Icy Hot, L'Oreal, and Nissan. Equipped with everything he learned while working on set, Marcus began directing his own music videos and short films. In August of 2009, Marcus' short film "TRUST" was chosen by BET Networks to air as part of their Lens On Talent series which spotlights emerging filmmakers. His most recent film "CASTING NOTICE" has screened at a number of film festivals and was awarded BEST SHORT FILM at the 2010 Peachtree Village International Film Festival in Atlanta. Marcus currently works as a Media Producer for the FOX Broadcasting Company where he produces, shoots, and edits video content for multiple platforms including sales and viral marketing. This position requires interacting with senior executives at both the network and studio level as well as talent.
