At age 15, Richard started a band with a friend. At that same time he dabbled in Magic. Age 16, he began working on stage as an imporv duo (partner was Victor San Miguel) with the likes of Jeff Foxworthy, Andrew Dice Clay, and many more on open mic nights. They were funny enough that a local producer put them on access cable with their own show, (Can you say Wayne's World?). Thus the beginnings of a video editor using a Panasonic A/B Linear editing system running two sony Umatic 3/4 inch tape decks. His band days continued with with many changes to the members and he worked part time at a skating rink and Magic shop. In 1985 Ric and Vic created their first 30 minute Chirstmas Special that aired on access cable that holiday season. (All shot on VHS and Edited and Dubbed using a home VHS Recorder straight from the camera. Richard and Victor began working on a screen play that would never become produced or finished. Richard Taught Improv to his own troupe at the comedy corner for two years before calling it quits to focus on a career in the music industry. WIth the band becoming more and more popular and some song play on the radio, many videos were created to fill the demand (The 400 strong fan club who Bought all their tapes and CD's). They opened for Red Flag, When IN Rome, Kon Kan, Dead or Alive, Tea for two and Echo and the Bunny Man before they changed more members and became a different band all together after a failed record contract through a CBS Producer. During this time Richard wrote several script ideas that never made it past paper.
Richard went on to start DJing in Night clubs to earn money and then did a few weddings on the side. Weddings became more and more profitable, so his focus was turned toward survival, though he still held on to the dreams of creating his movies some day.
After starting his own company in 2000, he added video and brought Victor back into the fold as well as some other talented DPs and Editors to create a great team for any production they have endeavored to do. Most of which have been wedding videos and a few corporate gigs. Now that he has the equipment and the knowledge, like any one else his dream is to finish his scripts and put out the movies that he hopes will help inspire and become life changing for the people that watch them.
As a person, his passions are making people laugh, helping them to see things in a different perspective, touching their emotions by bringing their minds out of the fog that is this world.
He married the lady of his dreams in a most interesting way in the year 2001 in Dallas, Texas. Everyone will know about this story as he swears to put it into a movie. After the birth of their son, Elizabeth went into depression that would last for three years, which changed their lives and Richards dreams of producing films. Their son is now six and he is slowly piecing together his abilities and equipment to make those dreams of making films a new way of life.
