I am a director, and a production coordinator (on music videos such as Beyonce's Single Ladies, LL Cool J's 'Baby'). In addition to directing videos, I recently completed my short documentary (36minutes) on HIV risk in Black and Latino Youth called "America's Shadows" and also finished a short experimental film called "Sita" about a fairy who falls in love with a human.
I went to Columbia University undergrad and majored in African American studies, took several Film studies classes and studied abroad in Paris. I've worked as an intern, and/or assistant for 40 Acres and A Mule (Summer of Sam), Mira Nair, and George C. Wolfe (Nights In Rodanthe).
I was an artist in residency in Cape Cod as part of the Gaea Sea Residency Artist for Social Change program.
In addition to directing music videos I am also rewriting a narrative screenplay that I hope to shoot this year. A lot of my stories and images are inspired by places I grew up and people that I have met along the way. My father worked for UNICEF and I grew up in the Caribbean, Africa, Asia and the Middle East and moved to the US when i was 16 years old. I've seen a lot, heard a lot and know that my purpose here is to act as a creative vessel to bring about more understanding.
