I've been filming since I was 12, messing around with video cameras over the summer months outside of school. When I was 16, a friend and I won a national Stop Racism Video Competition with Much Music. Later that year I took a week long film course in Nova Scotia. After graduating high school, I eventually moved out west, resuming my studies in video at a college level. 3 years later I had worked for CBC a couple times, taught a digital film program for youth in the summers, completed a short documentary which was screened at a local theatre and festivals, and was working in radio.
In 2008, I met my current business partner, Colin Burwell, who convinced me to leave my beautiful mountains out west and move across the country to Ontario, where we run Empty Cup Media.
Documentary films are my passion, and I hope to create my first feature length, HD doc within the next year. I am brimming with ideas, and surrounded by creative people who inspire me everyday. Our company is looking to initiate some youth film programs in our community within the next year so that we may inspire others to express their creative voices through video. Time will tell what the future holds...
