Dee is an Abilene, TX native and University of Texas film school graduate. He spent the first four years of his professional career under the mentorship of Richard Kelly (Donnie Darko, Southland Tales, and The Box) and Steven Poster, ASC learning all different aspects of filmmaking.
Since then, he has written, directed and produced short films, animations and documentaries for Killer Films, Darko Entertainment, The Jim Henson Company, Universal Pictures, Fox Studios, MSN, Generate, 60Frames Entertainment, DiVide Pictures and Agility Studios.
Most recently, Dee received a production grant from Killer Films to write and direct the short film CHARLEY.
Currently, his feature puppet noir THE HAPPYTIME MURDERS is in development with The Jim Henson Company and Lionsgate.
