Darius Smith was born and raised in Dallas, TX. by his parents Phyllis L. Payne and Eugene Washington.
After playing football at Texas A&M/Sam Houston State University. Darius was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in 1996 and played in the NFL for 2 years. He is a graduate of Sam Houston State University with a degree in communications, radio, television, and film. He has years of experience acting in plays, writing screenplays and short films. He is a writer, director, and film editor. Darius Smith’s passion for his work is evident in the many projects that he creates and produces. In 2018, Darius started his production company after completing 10 years as a juvenile probation officer with Harris County and a brief career in the insurance business. He decided that he was ready to work at doing things he loves to do. That is creating stories and sharing them in arts. He and his beautiful wife Charita reside in Houston with their daughter Taylor.
