Three young musicians come to Los Angeles to get their garage band off the ground. Along the way they fight personal trials and troubles, gather groupies, and never stop believing in the music.
Oliver Goodwill was raised in Wiltshire, England, and was sent to boarding schools from an early age. At age seven he started play drums and played for the school big bands and in several rock bands. He studied at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Drums and Percussion obtained his diploma and took a three-month summer course at the Los Angeles Music Academy. While studying there, he was invited to visit several different film and TV productions. In 2001, he took the leap and moved out to California, and took the certificate program at the UCLA Extension for Film, Television and Digital Media Entertainment. During this time, he played drums with bands around LA, and interned as a production assistant on sets of big TV shows and movies. He found a manager and began auditioning. A friend recruited him to write musical score for a short film about vampires. He got a role in the Evanescence music video, 'Call Me When You're Sober', as the main character, which ranked #1 in America when it was released. Oliver wrote several songs for the RUNAWAY STARS, and the complete musical score.
DUNCAN
Born in London, but raised in Iowa, Duncan always felt just a little bit "different". He was an outsider and escaped from his sense of "aloneness" on the long snowy days when he wasn't skiing by losing himself in books. When he was twelve, Duncan discovered his step-father's records collecting dust in the cellar, a world of possibility opened up to him. He got a part time job delivering papers and made enough money to buy a keyboard. He taught himself how to play. He spent hours listening to music like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd & The Beatles and soon started to write his own songs. As a Freshman in High School, Duncan met up with the class clown, Ryan, and renamed him Kubrick. They frequently went on double dates and invited their female friends to listen to their songs and give them feedback. When Duncan was a senior in High School, his mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. She died soon after he turned twenty one. His step father was devastated. His older brother joined the army and Duncan stayed at home to try to hold things together.
JR NUTT
J.R. has made this Bio like a woman's skirt: long enough to cover the subject, but short enough to keep it interesting. J.R. has been a professional actor since the age of 8 when he appeared in Oliver Stone's Born On The Fourth of July. More recently he has landed recurring roles on NBC's Days of our Lives, ABC Family's Greek, and the hit Disney Channel series Corey In The House. He has made guest appearances on Bones, October Road, ICarly, and Zoey 101. In addition to Runaway Stars you will soon see him appearing in the new Jim Carrey film Yes Man playing a golf caddie, and on ABC's Pushing Daisies playing a killer.
KUBRICK
Kubrick's real name is Ryan, but Duncan nicknamed him Kubrick for his love of the great film director, Stanley Kubrick. Kubrick's uncle Marvin introduced him to classic film. Kubrick would sneak out of bed after his parents were asleep and stay up into the wee hours watching one film after another with his uncle. Marvin loved Bergman, Fellini, Peckinpah, Rohmer, and, of course, Stanley Kubrick. His nephew was hooked when he saw Dr. Strangelove for the first time. Marvin gave him his copy and Kubrick wore it out by the end of middle school. In his early teens, Kubrick found refuge in his guitar and in music. One of the side benefits was the attraction it had for girls. Just about every Saturday night, Kubrick and Duncan could be found serenading two winsome lasses with their songs. Kubrick could usually get the keys to his Dad's Impala, and he and Duncan traded off back seat privileges.
MELISSA LEIGH
MELISSA LEIGH: Melissa is a British actress that recently relocated to the US. Since then credits include 'HAMMER OF THE GODS' for the Sci-Fi channel, MYSTERY ER (Discovery Channel), web series' 'RUNAWAY STARS' and 'THE KARO SHOW', 'THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL' (CBS), the lead in 'SPIDER'S WEB' at the Long Beach Playhouse (Ethel Case Award) and is pleased to have written, co-directed & produced her first short film 'NOTHING' (Official selection Newport Beach Film Festival 2008) and is about to start work on feature film 'EDEN'.
MAUDE
Duncan's 22 year-old Girlfriend Maude is a strong earthy beauty of Jewish descent. She is a "smart cookie" a talented filmmaker studying filmmaking at Santa Monica College. She does not have a full time job, instead, she picks up various gigs here and there, and she still receives a monthly stipend from her parents. She is a woman of many trades. In addition to making a documentary about RUNAWAY STARS, she manages the band until Alan Marlowe comes along. She really believes in this band and loves their music. She is wholly committed to her relationship with Duncan. Her biggest complaint with him is that he is too self-absorbed and too absorbed with the band. She lures him to her with her body, her games and with her temper that sometimes explodes if he does not give her enough attention. She does not like Lacey, but puts up with her. To keep herself balanced, she swims in the ocean..sometimes at night.
LEON FAZZIO
Grew up since the age of 12 in New Braunfels, TX, coming from another small town of Rosenberg, TX. My family was straight forward Southern Baptist Texas family. Church Sundays and Wed, ma'ms and sir's. I love to work hard, love the investigation, the search and research for characters, going out and observing homeless people for hours, that's what I love. I love humans and their behavior. I always wonder why and where it truths from. As in all things we do, under all the shit, there is a truth somewhere.... all I know is if I ever get satisfied with acting, I'm done. Satisfaction is death.
LENNY
The youngest in the band, Lenny is the only true Angeleno. Raised in Malibu, but trying to put that behind him, Lenny has dived full force into the LA music scene. As a teenager, his mother and step-father became irritated with the noise of both a new baby and Lenny's musical pursuits, and sent him to a boarding school for the musically gifted. What they didn't know was that the musically gifted also encompassed the chemically adventurous and Lenny began experimenting with new ways to expand his consciousness.Lenny managed to complete High School with the support of his music teacher who admired his free spirit. Lenny helped his teacher unleash her lower chakras. To her great disappointment, upon high school graduation, Lenny moved into Hollywood and didn't leave her his new address.
LAURA ORNELAS
Laura Ornelas was born and raised in the great state of Texas. After graduating from The University of Texas at Austin, she could think of nothing better to do than move half way across the country to pursue her dreams. Among other things, Laura has done numerous music videos and commercials, toured the US and Canada in the show "The 99 cent Family," and is currently set to begin work on a project with Disney. Filming Runaway Stars was a turning point in her training as an actress, and the project holds a very special place in her heart.
LACEY
The ultimate groupie. Starving to be accepted by the members of Runaway Stars, but even more starving to be loved by lead singer Duncan. Her attitude and desperate actions leave you wondering what the hell her parents did to make her this way. She is a dreamer, passionate about becoming an actress. She will take advantage of every opportunity to put on a dramatic performance. Most people, especially Duncan and Maude, can look right through the optimistic masks she wears, to see a girl whose lost and alone, searching for the one thing that will make her whole.

ANGEL
Moved to the United States from Uganda. She met Kubrick when he was visiting Uganda and he brought her back here. She is a stunning beauty who used to model. She is direct, but at the same time still searching for her place in the world. She's super stylish and her interest in style led to her opening the VINTAGE AFFAIR with Kubrick. She doesn't trust people, especially men and this is a struggle for her as it leaves her feeling very alone. She is super sharp & aware and she is rightly concerned about the state of the world-particularly Uganda. She is determined to make a positive difference back home where hunger and starvation persists.
