Originally from Tucson, Arizona, Sara started creating film projects at an early age. She graduated from University of Arizona, where she made several short films, including her evocative documentary, An Ann Coulter Experience, which covers Ann Coulter’s controversial visit to the campus during the 2004 Presidential Campaign.
After living in Munich, Germany and traveling around Europe for a year, Sara moved to Los Angeles in 2006 to attend UCLA's Producers Program. There she was involved in many diverse short film projects, which have been screened and garnered awards at film festivals around the world.
Sara won awards both for writing and directing her first feature film, Good Satan, which was released in 2012. Sara has also been involved in the development and production of several big-budget, studio films, including The Blind Side, The Book of Eli, and Prisoners during her time as a Creative Executive at Alcon Entertainment. Sara most recently worked on the first four seasons of the television show, Grace and Frankie, starring Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, for which she co-wrote two episodes.
