Biography

Richard Pierre has been working in the film and television industry since 2001. He has worked on dozens of short films, TV shows, features, documentaries and commercials. A graduate of Ryerson University's Film program, Richard worked in a variety of jobs from DOP to Editor, gradually building knowledge and expertise that would provide the foundation for his work as a director. He has directed numerous short films, commercials and music videos, winning awards and having his work screened at various festivals. He specializes in understated performances and conversational dialogue. One of his most recent spots for AT&T garnered third place for Mofilm’s Barcelona 2010 competition. His feature length screenplay, 'Crooked' was selected as a quarter-finalist for the 2009 Nicholl Fellowship, sponsored by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Richard is currently in post-production on his first dramatic 35 mm short film, ‘The Toboggan,’ that will be released later in 2010.
