new musicvideo for zimbabwe - http://www.filmaka.com/archives.php?search_keywords=zimbabwe
I am a fulltime pharmacist who in between dispensing medication discovered the wonderful hobby of filmmaking 2 years ago. Since then it has completely consumed my life and hopefully in the future it will become a fulltime occupation! I have completed 6 short films that I have written, directed and produced (seen on my profile); 3 short films that I produced and one of those I wrote the screenplay for.
I have screened a weekly program on live open mic poetry reading(called “Off the Wall in Obz) on Cape TV which I directed, produced and filmed.
Documentary is another format I really enjoy. I filmed for 4 days in the middle of nowhere, desert, rural South Africa a documentary on the one teacher, farmschool aptly named “Modderfontein” for disadvantaged rural kids from the surrounding farms.
I was priviledged to finally experience a little bit of the professional industry by working as researcher/ production assistant for CNBC - Europe on a program called “Africareport”. The program was about entrepeneurs in different African countries who has interesting stories on how they started their businesses and how they can inspire others. (www.africareport.com)
Currently I am working on finding funding for another documentary on an abandoned baby in the government health system in South Africa. Following her process through to adoption.
I have dabbled in music videos – one done for “Zimfest” a music festival in aid of charity organistation PASSOP( People against suppression, suffering, suppression, oppression and poverty) which focuses on the plight of refugees in South Africa from Zimbabwe.
My main interest lies with scriptwriting, I am currently working on 2 feature scripts, typical South African but with universal appeal.
2010 will be the year to find funding for these scripts!
