Raphael Xavier, an award winning artist from Wilmington, Delaware, lives in Philadelphia and Los Angeles, California. He’s a Pennsylvania Fellow of the Arts in Folk and Traditional forms and has been funded by the Independence Foundation and the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. He has been a professional dancer for the last 15 years, working in a variety of fields including Music, photography and film. His latest project is a feature length dance documentary based in Brazil entitled 'Batalha', and a photo documentary shot over a decade about bicycles that have been left as street carcas after having parts stolen from them. It's a may documentary submission. "I see myself working more in the arts field and pushing the limits of many forms. I got to this point by being a person out to prove to himself that anything and everything can be done. I am not a master and don't wish to be, as it suggests that you have stopped learning."
