Biography He started his art career as an indie and gothic rock musician. Soon he sold his guitar and amplifier to buy a graphics card and camcorder. From that day on he made a lot of music videos for some friends' bands, which led to the indication for independent category of VMA Brazil (VMB 2001). In 2003 he won a local competition with the band Retrofoguetes. Acclaim would be acchieved in 2006, when he wrote the script and directed the music video of the mainstream artist Pitty and therefore won the country's most important awards such as VMA Brazil (VMB 2006) and the Multishow Awards of Best Music Video of the year (Multishow 2006). In the same year he also won in the independent category the award of best music video during the traditional Gramado film festival.
He graduated in film arts at FTC and reveales that his dream of working with it, leads back to his childhood. While studying at the university, he won a national award for Subtitle (an experimental film) and gained recognition with Its cool CINEMA, that was selected and exhibited at the Latin American Film Festival (LAFF - London - UK).
Orgasm #1 brought him to Berlin within the Talent Campus Program of Berlinale Film Festival.
With the piece of work Walterville (2008) he was awarded within the national video festival A Imagem em 5 Minutos.
The cinephile Alexandre Guena mentioned that it was very interesting to get to know FILMAKA and he felt very honored to get recognition for his work by some admired masters like Harmony Korine and the band Sonic Youth.
