We remain resolved to deliver work that raises consciousness and provokes thought. Our goal is to rattle the institutional cages that say there is no such thing as quality underground television. The Underground was created by a number of the filmmakers who produced 20 episodes of television that ran from '05-'07 on channel LA36 in Los Angeles. MATT WEINGLASS is co-founder of the original Afterthought Theatre Company, and has helped the group evolve into The Underground as its producer. Recently Matt shot and directed "Ballentine: Top of the World" and co-directed "Nicaragua: A Dying Generation". PETER M. SMITH is a co-founder of LASREVER, an independent production company based in LA, and also the principal cinematographer, director and editor for The Underground. JEFF GLASSBERG is a co-founder of LASREVER, and a co-producer of The Underground. He is also a proud member of The Ventriloquists, a band which provides a large portion of our music. MARTIN MARKOVITS has been writing about Venezuelan politics for the past two years. He is a LA native based in Caracas. As a reporter he has covered Hugo Chavez's Bolivarian revolution for the San Francisco Chronicle and the Free Speech Radio network. Martin is the principal foreign correspondent and freelance director for The Underground.
