Biography

Sophie Boyce began her craving for filmmaking at just eight-years-old, when she made a feature length film with the children in her neighbourhood. Since then, Sophie has been maturing and improving as a filmmaker, and by fourteen-years-old, her films were appearing in festivals and competitions across the UK. Now at seventeen, Sophie has won awards in filmmaking competitions, and has gathered interest in many prestigious festivals. In September 2010, Sophie Boyce will be attending the Met Film School based at Ealing Film Studios, where she hopes to pursue a career as a professional filmmaker. Her favourite films include Across the Universe, Billy Elliot, Moulin Rouge, E.T, I Am Sam and A Hard Days Night, starring her heroes the Beatles. Sophie is mainly inspired by directors such as Julie Taymor, Terry Gilliam, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Tim Burton and Baz Luhrmann.
